Program Engagement Manager– Digital Health
Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Program Engagement Manager– Digital Health on our Professional Satisfaction and Sustainability team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

As a Program Engagement Manager– Digital Health, you will engage digital health innovators, physicians, and other health care stakeholders through AMA products and programs with the goal of developing solutions that are an asset, and not a burden, to patient care. This role will support efforts to increase engagement across digital health resources and programs such as the Physician Innovation Network (PIN) and the Future of Health research and Immersion Program and help to ensure the physician voice is represented in the development and implementation of new technologies. Responsible for marketing and communications strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Community Engagement 

  • Support the growth and development of PIN member profiles and connections with other users, co-promote events and resources to the community, support industry collaborators and end users by setting up engagement meetings.
  • Administer operations of PIN programming including, but not limited to, virtual panel discussions, webinars, community meetings, and networking events.
  • Coordinate onboarding and engagement of users of our target market, facilitating a strong user experience in ways that help to build the brand.
  • Monitor community engagement via the PIN newsfeed and discussions and help to identify opportunities to promote AMA work and connect users with key initiatives across the AMA.
  • Support collaborators in holistic engagement of AMA digital health initiatives as needed including, but not limited to the Future of Health Immersion Program collaborator program.
  • Track and report awareness, engagement, and impact measures using standard templates such as Google Analytics, the PIN Dashboard, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Communications

  • Develop and execute on marketing and communications strategy across digital health initiatives in collaboration with key PS2 team members and the AMA marketing and experience team (MMX).
  • Draft, schedule, and deploy communications for newsletters, promotional emails, promotional kits, events across digital health programs and initiatives, coordinating with the Content Strategy and Operations team to execute plans on behalf of the Digital Health team.
  • Manage the social media presence for Physician Innovation Network on various channels including Twitter, LinkedIn, the PIN platform and internal AMA channels.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to include digital health initiatives in various communication channels across the AMA (e.g. Steps Forward newsletters, Advocacy Update, Morning Rounds, The Wire, AMA One, etc.).
  • In collaboration with Project Administrator, guides MMX and Content Strategy relationships internally.

Product Improvement

  • Lead product and process improvement in collaboration with Product Manager and technology developer and provide overall coordination for ongoing engagement with the vendor for PIN.
  • Communicate priorities defined by the Digital Health team that are surfaced from users and both internal and external collaborators and identified by their impact of our KPIs and goals for the year.
  • Work closely with internal teams including PS2 operations and AMA IT to identify opportunities for technology integration as needed (e.g. PIN and ON24).
  • Develop PIN user guides that will support internal and external use of the platform.

Digital Health Operations 

  • Support the operations and growth of the Digital Health team overall by assisting with presentations, events, coordination of applicable meetings, and helping to create a work environment that is efficient, generous, innovative, and a joyful place to work and collaborate together.
  • Support the collection and reporting of key impact measures for digital health.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business administration, Communications, Marketing, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required.
  2. Minimum 5+ years’ related experience in communications and marketing required.
  3. Experience with healthcare communications required.
  4. Knowledge of healthcare developments, challenges, along with communications and marketing channels required.
  5. Strong organization skills.
  6. Strong communication skills, ability to articulate both tone and content through a marketing channel to physicians, healthcare technology innovators, patients, and investors. Strong collaboration skills, ability to influence and invite stakeholders to participate from across the industry and within the AMA.
  7. Strong presentation skills, ability to confidently represent the AMA in public settings.
  8. Experience in sales and event management preferred.
  9. Experience using project management tools and frameworks such as Asana.
  10. Travel required.
  11. Focus on maintaining a strong client/customer relationship and knowledge, tact, and the ability to work autonomously in order to solicit, assess, and develop relationships with PIN users that help equip them to leverage and share all of the features, resources, and tools.
  12. AMA’s safety and policy protocols require proof of full vaccination against COVID19 for employment at AMA (including booster when eligible).  Employees may apply for a religious or medical exemption from getting the vaccine.
